For the last three years, Christopher Honey has been the communications director at SEIU Local 500, the fastest growing education and public sector local in the Mid-Atlantic. He spent many years as a campaign rat, bouncing around from one part of the country to another – working on electoral campaigns from Mississippi to California. He was also formerly the California political director for Progressive Majority, consultant to West Coast labor unions and press secretary for Congresswoman Grace F. Napolitano. He writes bad poetry and lives in Washington, DC, though his heart will always be in his home state of Florida, even if he can’t be sure that his votes were ever properly counted there.
