This session will help activists learn how to optimize their texting program in an increasingly regulated environment. We’ll discuss best practices for deliverability and how to avoid being audited, paused, or having your program stopped altogether. If you’re familiar with running texting campaigns but would like to learn more about how 10DLC could impact your digital field strategy, this session is for you. From texting volunteers to persuasion and ballot curing, we know how important it is for your messages to get delivered; we’re here to share everything you can do to make sure that happens. In the midst of this uncertain regulatory environment, we’ll teach you how to stay informed and run an effective program.

Moderators

Ilana Kaplan

Ilana (she/her) is the VP of Client Strategy at Impactive, leveraging over 15 years of electoral experience on all levels of the ballot. Ilana has spent her career primarily in organizing, in roles ranging from state legislative campaign manager to WV State Director for Organizing for America to Deputy National Field Director for America Votes. Prior to Impactive, Ilana worked the National State Desk for the Bernie Sanders 2020 campaign and oversaw the organizing program in five key Super Tuesday states (including Texas) plus Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin. Ilana spent 2020 advising on relational organizing strategy through Impactive with Biden/Harris 2020, the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee (DSCC), SEIU, and multiple state parties. She resides in Washington, DC with her cat and enjoys traveling, good food, and the Chicago Cubs.
