BAMEMSA and AAPI Caucus

Session Type(s): Caucus

Starts: Saturday, Aug. 20 9:00 AM (Eastern)

Ends: Saturday, Aug. 20 10:00 AM (Eastern)

Join fellow BAMEMSA and AAPI-identifying folks for an informal space to build community, share resources with one another, and discuss common challenges in organizing across our wide and diverse communities who are seen as perpetual foreigners in the US.

*BAMEMSA is an acronym for Black, African, Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian to describe communities that have been acutely impacted by post 9/11 discrimination, surveillance, and hate-based violence. We also have been on the front lines of creating a just, multiracial democracy in the United States.

*AAPI is an acronym for Asian American, Pacific Islander. We want to acknowledge the importance of centering Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander voices who have been historically marginalized in this umbrella identity category.
