Open Call: Best Practices for Using Data and Models

Open Call: Best Practices for Using Data and Models

Session Type(s): Training

Training Tag(s): Grassroots Organizing/Campaigns

Starts: Thursday, Aug. 13 12:00 PM (Eastern)

Ends: Thursday, Aug. 13 12:50 PM (Eastern)

Do you have questions about the best ways to use models? We’ll teach you the fundamentals you should know: how models are constructed, how they should (and shouldn’t!) be used, what to know about your model before using it, and what to ask before you decide to purchase or build a custom model. Catalist’s Analytics team builds and maintains a robust set of civic behavior models for the progressive community and often works through these challenges internally. When do we need to build a new model? What are the benefits and costs? Could we do something more effective with the money spent on a new model? What are the ways a new model can add value? This is a frank and open conversation about what models can and cannot do for a campaign.
