You don’t need a JD to understand the importance of our federal courts, and you don’t need an MBA to see how tax reform is being used to attack the middle class. Every day activists and groups across the nation face a challenging task: distill the complex ins and outs of policies into a simple, engaging public message. But simplifying your message is more than cutting words—it’s about making content that moves people to act. From Tweets to podcasts, infographics to videos, digital media makes it possible to educate and motivate people in unique ways. This session will cover identifying your audience, where they are, and how best to reach them; finding the message that speaks to their values; and translating big ideas into visual products.
