This is a caucus for Black Women, Femmes and girls that are attending the conference. In this space we will debrief, brainstorm around shared issue based work and build community for local and national work. This is a closed caucus.
Krystal Leaphart is a passionate leader and emerging champion for intersectional racial justice. Serving her communities at the margin of organizing, advocacy and facilitation, Krystal is has extensive experience working and volunteer with civil rights organization, civic engagement nonprofits and community service bodies. She currently serves as the Operations and Policy Associate at the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women, or NOBEL Women. She served as the Chief of Staff for IMPACT, a nonprofit that fosters civic engagement, political involvement and economic empowerment for young professionals of color.
As a facilitator and speaker, she has spoken about anti-black racism, gender based violence and intersectionality. Some examples include a speaker for the inaugural Women’s March convention, a facilitator for The White House Young Women Leading the Way: Strategies and Solutions to Breaking Barriers for girls and by girls conference, and a National Coalition on Black Civic Participation Black Millennial panelist at the 2016 Democratic National Committee Convention. She also served as a steering committee member for the March for Black Women that took place September of 2017.
Many of you are asking about Netroots Nation 2021 plans. We’re happy to report that #NN21 WILL happen, but we haven’t yet announced our plans for dates and format. As we keep a close eye on the latest COVID-19 developments and weigh our options, know that we are doing so to ensure that NN21 is safe and accessible for as many people as possible.
