Take the Donkey by the Tail: How (and Why) to Take Over Your Local Democratic Party

Session Type(s): Panel

Starts: Friday, Aug. 11 2:30 PM (Eastern)

Ends: Friday, Aug. 11 3:45 PM (Eastern)

Republicans now control the White House, the Senate, the House of Representatives, two thirds of State Houses, and the majority of Governorships. Why? Many point to a Democratic Party that is increasingly stale, disorganized, and undisciplined. Perhaps that is why, after the 2016 election, so many millennial progressives have decided to stand up, fight back, and take over their local Democratic Committee. In this panel, you’ll hear from four young progressives on how they stormed the gates of their local party, how they’ve revitalized local Democratic activism in their city, and how (and why) you should do the same!
