Write Like You Mean It: Creating Content that Says Something

Session Type(s): Professional Development Training

Starts: Wednesday, Oct. 20 6:00 PM (Eastern)

Ends: Wednesday, Oct. 20 7:30 PM (Eastern)

We’re fighting for big things that change people’s lives and make life-or-death differences for millions. So why does so much of our content read like an instruction manual? In this session, we’ll explore how and why words resonate, explore through case studies, examples of words we all remember, and practice turning advocacy pablum into content that sings.

I help emerging and established leaders build trust and power through values-based storytelling and creative campaigns. Since joining the Obama campaign as a field intern in 2007, I’ve led teams and developed strategy at Organizing for America, the New Organizing Institute and the American Federation of Teachers. In 2018 I launched Firekit Campaigns to work directly with leaders who want to break through the crowded landscape and build power to improve people’s lives.
