Rajesh Nayak is a Fellow the Labor and Worklife Program at Harvard Law School. Previously, he spent three years at the National Employment Law Project, where he was the organization’s Deputy Executive Director, helping to lead a major restructuring reorienting the organization around the goals of building worker power and dismantling structural racism. Prior to joining NELP in January 2017, Raj spent seven years serving in senior roles in the Obama Administration’s labor department, most recently as deputy chief of staff to Secretary Tom Perez. He also served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Policy, helping to manage the agency's ambitious regulatory agenda.
