José Alonso Munoz is the Deputy Communications Manager for United We Dream, the largest immigrant youth-led network in the nation. José Alonso ensures that the voice and strategy of immigrant youth and families are heard across the country through engaging the media, shaping news stories, developing narrative and message as well as training directly impacted people to express themselves through the media. Since joining United We Dream, José Alonso has trained over 150 young leaders in message and communications strategy, he co-led the award winning communications strategy of the Home is Here Campaign to protect DACA at the Supreme Court. José Alonso is a published writer whose work has appeared in The New York Times, MTV News, The Huffington Post, DailyKos, Into, Them, among others. He has been featured in both local and national publications, and has been interviewed on camera in both English and Spanish, including live national shows like NPR’s Morning Edition, SiriusXM’s Signal Boost, Univision’s Despierta America and Edicion Especial, among others.
