Arad Boxenbaum is a GenZ gun violence prevention activist and grassroots organizer and has been active with Everytown for Gun Safety and March for Our Lives in addition to campaign work for candidates on all levels of government including Chicago area members of Congress. Arad was elected to municipal office in Geneva, IL at the age of 19 and is now Vice President of the Geneva Library Board where he spearheaded a diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative where the library rewrote most of it's policy handbook to be more inclusive, expand family leave, and create a safe gun storage policy. Additionally, he serves on the Kane County Climate Action Implementation Team to research and recommend policy actions for the Kane County government to implement that will shift the community towards a more environmentally friendly and equitable economy. Arad ran for State Representative at the age of 20 while completing his undergraduate degree a year and a half early and was thankful to have received the support of gun violence prevention organizations such as Everytown for Gun Safety, unions such as the Illinois Education Association, as well as the endorsement of the Chicago Tribune. Arad is running again for State Representative in 2024 to better advocate for his community and deliver common sense gun violence prevention solutions among a number of priorities to better shift Illinois into a future that's prosperous for all.
