David Dayen is a contributing writer to Salon.com. He has been writing about politics since 2004, first as a blogger and then as a freelance journalist. He also writes for The New Republic, The American Prospect, The Guardian (UK), Politico, The Huffington Post, The Washington Monthly, Alternet, Democracy Journal, Pacific Standard, and elsewhere. His work has been cited by the LA Times, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post, and he has been a guest on MSNBC, CNN, Al Jazeera, NPR, Pacifica Radio and SiriusXM Radio. He has contributed to two anthology books, one about the Wisconsin labor uprising and one on the fight over the Stop Online Piracy Act in Congress. He lives in Los Angeles, where prior to writing about politics he had a 17-year career as a television producer and editor.
