Mateo Guerrero-Tabares recently graduated from Hunter College with a B.A. in Political Science and Africana, Puerto Rican and Latinx Studies, and is currently working as the Leadership Development Coordinator at Make the Road NY. Mateo is originally from Cali, Colombia, however, after a financial hardship in his country, his family and him decided to come to the United States in search of a better future. Since then, Mateo has come out and embraced his identities as a trans and queer immigrant in order to organize and fight for immigrant and LGBTQ rights, as well as advocating for intersectional politics that recognize the complexity of our communities regarding race, class, gender, and age.
