FAQ

Where do all the Netroots Nation events take place?
All Netroots Nation 2024 programming will be held at the Baltimore Convention Center. For those coming in from out of town, we have a special block at the Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor (click here to book).

I want to register now but I don’t know for sure if I’ll be able to go. Should I wait?
We suggest registering as early as possible. We only have a limited number of registrations at each price tier, so prices will increase as the convention approaches.

If I buy my ticket but can no longer attend, can I get a refund?
Registration fees are non-refundable, but registrations may be transferred or sold to other individuals before the convention begins, donated to scholarship programs or transferred to another year.

When can I pick up my registration credential?
Credentials are available for pickup starting Wednesday at 4 p.m. before the conference begins and starting at 8 a.m. every morning of the conference.

Will there be free wifi in the convention area?
Absolutely! Thanks to our fantastic sponsor, CWA, wifi is available throughout the space in the convention center. The login info is available at the registration area.

Is food included in my ticket?
We provide limited amounts of food during select events throughout the convention, and many of our sponsors provide coffee and snack breaks as well.

When and where do I get my T-shirt and swag?
You can pick up your shirt and swag starting Thursday morning at the Netroots Nation booth inside the Town Square.

What if I have a special need or disability?
If you have a special need, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. Volunteers are available at the registration desk to assist with mobility issues or other needs that may arise.

A limited number of mobility scooters are available at the registration desk. If you need one, you can check one out. This will work on a first come-first served basis (limited to 2-hour increments, if someone’s waiting).

What should I wear?
Ties tend to shock unless you’re running for office, so we suggest dressing for comfort. Session rooms can get chilly, so bring a scarf or jacket, and comfy shoes are a must. Check out these tips from Tanya Tarr.

How are your speakers chosen?
A majority of our content is submitted by and for the community. Anyone can submit a proposal for a panel, training or screening series session. The submission process typically opens in January each year.

I want to attend but can’t afford it. Are there scholarships available?
Yes! We have scholarships available each year and also offer a limited number of deeply discounted registrations in exchange for volunteer hours at the convention.

Is there a reduced rate for students/youth?
Yes! We offer a limited number of reduced-rate youth registrations. You can find the registration options here.

Are payments made to Netroots Nation tax deductable?
Since payments for registration fees, merchandise and donations should be made to Netroots Nation, a California 501(c)4 corporation, they are not tax-deductible. If you pay by credit card, the charges will appear under “NETROOTS NATION.”
