Black bloggers voice will be paid close attention given Obama's candidacy and while the increased attention and addition of new voices are welcome; our collective voice is just as pertinent for issues unrelated to Obama's campaign. As such, what steps should we be taking now to make sure that this message is not lost on each other and the larger blogosphere/media infrastructure?

Brandon Q. White

Brandon White serves as the Summit/Issues Director for Michigan Prospect and Michigan Voice. The Michigan Prospect is a think-tank and Michigan Voice is a collaborative for organizations committed to increasing voter registration in underrepresented and socially responsible communities. Brandon develops campaigns for progressive local organizations along with planning the Michigan Policy Summit, an action-agenda conference for Michigan’s progressive community. After graduating from the University of Michigan, he co-founded the blog, The SuperSpade: Black Thought at the Highest Level. Brandon founded the group, Blacknetaction, a list serve for Black bloggers that use blogs as an activist tool to uplift our community.

Gina McCauley

Gina McCauley is the founder of the blogs What About Our Daughters? and Michelle Obama Watch. McCauley is also the organizer of Blogging While Brown, the first international conference for bloggers of color. McCauley was named to ESSENCE magazine's list of the "25 Most Influential African Americans of 2007" for her work on her blog, What About Our Daughters? The blog's mission is to be uncompromising,unapologetic, and unbowed in defense of Black women.

Leutisha Stills

Leutisha Stills is the chief researcher for the CBC Monitor Report Card, a monitoring and evaluative tool used to analyze and grade the legislative performances of the Congressional Black Caucus. Ms. Stills blogs for Jack and Jill Politics, as well as writes for other blogs, such as The Pesky Fly, Counterpunch and the Progressive Beacon. She is a frequent contributor to Black Agenda Report with the column "CBC Monitor Watch". Ms. Stills is also an active member of Progressive Democrats of America - Northern Virginia chapter. A native of Oakland, California, Ms. Stills resides in the Metro Washington, DC area.
