Mike Casey blogs at Scaling Green, Energy Boom and Renewable Energy World.
He is founder and president of Tigercomm, a firm dedicated to working for
companies, nonprofits and elected officials who are advancing
sustainability. Mike previously served on two presidential campaigns, and as
a spokesman for a U.S. Senator, a Congressman, and two national
environmental groups: the National Environmental Trust, which won 22
straight issue campaigns during his tenure; and the Environmental Working
Group, which earned the reputation as "dollar for dollar, demonstrably one
of the most effective groups in Washington."
He designed and ran the media campaigns that helped secure the 1996 Safe
Drinking Water Act Amendments, the 1996 Clean Air Act Amendments, the
banning of several pesticides, and the fight to ban a cancer-causing
ingredient in Teflon. He also ran the media efforts that caught right-wing
ABC “reporter” John Stossel fabricating test results to attack organic food.
In his 26 years of experience in communications, he has counseled cleantech
executives, as well as elected officials and environmental group leaders. He
has trained more than 1,600 people on message development, media relations
and public relations management.
