In recent years, we’ve seen movements come alive around the world to fight for democracy and against austerity. From Wisconsin to the UK to Egypt to Libya, activists are standing up to write a different future for themselves.

These shared goals and learning opportunities have led to international partnerships and expansion. Bloggers and activists from 24 countries—including Germany, Morocco, Yemen, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan and China—shared their experiences at Netroots Nation 2011. The second Netroots UK was held June 30, 2012 in London, and the first Netroots Sweden was held April 27-29, 2012 in Stockholm.
