Abortion is not a wedge issue

Abortion is not a wedge issue. Abortion is health care, a constitutionally guaranteed right that for far too many people in far too many states is now a right in name only.

At Netroots Nation next week, we’ll dig into this topic during a plenary session that explores the state of abortion access and reproductive justice. Hear from reproductive justice and abortion rights activists about their work, what’s at stake and how we can move from celebrating compromise as victory to winning.

This keynote conversation—Not Your Wedge Issue: The State of Abortion Access and Reproductive Justice—is scheduled for Saturday, July 16, at 10:30 a.m.

You’ll hear from activists and leaders on the front lines of this issue, including Lizz Winstead of Lady Parts Justice, Pamela Merritt of ReproAction, Laura Jimenez of California Leaders for Reproductive Justice, Aimee Thorne-Thomsen of SisterSong and Rep. Jan Schakowsky.
